A little update:
The kids and I finished fall semester. Tim started his new school with some ups and downs but passed all of his classes, made some friends and seems to have adjusted well. Kara did well in school finishing the semester with all A's. I finished all of my classes and only need to do my internship before graduating in May.
We had some good times: Kara and I met my sister and niece in Iowa for a weekend and had a very nice time.
Tim turned 13. Wow! another teenager. So far so good, he is a good kid despite the fact that he likes to challenge the norms. of society (honestly, I think he gets that from me).
Kara asked me to braid her hair, boy that took a long time.
We had a nice Christmas both kids asked for and received snuggies. And we are ready to start the new year.
I have enjoyed this last Christmas break without working (hopefully I will be working next Christmas), have had some fun, gotten some things done (at this moment every room in the house is clean except Kara's room I'm not doing that one without her). And I feel almost ready to start my internship next week. Although I am very worried about 40 hours a week outside of home, haven't done that for many, many years and never as a single parent. But I think I am up for the challenge.
